FAQ
LivOn Artisan Coffee+ is a range of specialty coffees blended with natural ingredients that take coffee further. Every blend is built around specialty coffee first. The added ingredients are chosen to build on what is already in the coffee bean, not to disguise it.
LivOn is coffee. It is roasted, ground and brewed in the same way as any specialty coffee. The added ingredients sit within the blend itself. LivOn is not a supplement, capsule or powder.
LivOn is ground specialty coffee. Every blend is roasted, ground and packaged in the same way as any other specialty coffee, and brewed in the same way as any other ground coffee.
Many functional and mushroom coffees on the market are instant. LivOn was built around specialty coffee from the start, and the format reflects that. The cup itself has to stand up as coffee.
Eight. Pure is entirely coffee, with no added ingredients beyond green coffee. The other six are functional blends, each combining specialty coffee with a chosen ingredient and a vitamin: Antiox, Energy, Focus, Glow, Immune and Unwind.
Pure is specialty coffee blended with green coffee, which comes directly from coffee beans before roasting. It stays entirely within the world of coffee, with no ingredients added beyond the beans themselves.
The other six blends each combine specialty coffee with a chosen ingredient and a vitamin. Antiox uses chaga mushroom and vitamin C. Energy uses cordyceps mushroom and vitamin B12. Focus uses lion's mane mushroom and vitamin B6. Glow uses collagen and biotin. Immune uses reishi mushroom and vitamin D3. Unwind, the only decaffeinated blend, uses reishi mushroom and vitamin B3.
Pure is the most familiar entry point. It is entirely coffee, with green coffee as the only addition, and feels closest to a specialty coffee approached a little differently. From there, each functional blend can be chosen based on the ingredient or the benefit it delivers. Product pages set out the full composition and what the blend is built around.
Yes. For most adults, LivOn can be enjoyed in the same way as any other specialty coffee.
LivOn is not designed for children. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, taking prescription medication or managing a medical condition, please speak to a healthcare professional before drinking LivOn.
Functional mushrooms are edible mushrooms with a long history of traditional use in food cultures, particularly across East Asia and Northern Europe. They are now widely used as ingredients in modern functional food and drink. LivOn uses four functional mushrooms across the range: chaga in Antiox, cordyceps in Energy, lion's mane in Focus, and reishi in Immune and Unwind.
Coffee already contains over a thousand naturally occurring bioactive compounds, including antioxidants. The functional blends in the LivOn range add ingredients that are widely recognised in the functional food and drink category, chosen to build on what is already in the coffee bean rather than to introduce something unrelated to it.
Pure was developed to stay entirely within the world of coffee. Rather than adding a mushroom, it combines specialty coffee with green coffee. Green coffee comes directly from coffee beans before roasting, when they still hold higher levels of certain natural compounds.
Glow is built around skin and hair maintenance, where collagen and biotin are already widely recognised ingredients. They sit alongside specialty coffee in the same way the functional mushrooms sit in the other blends.
Yes. Every blend except Unwind is made from regular specialty coffee and contains caffeine. The caffeine content for each blend is set out on the product page.
Unwind is made from decaffeinated specialty coffee. Decaffeinated coffee contains significantly less caffeine than regular coffee, but is not always completely caffeine-free. Small amounts may remain.
Glow and Glow Cold Brew contain bovine collagen and are not suitable for vegans or vegetarians.
Immune contains vitamin D3, which is derived from animal sources, and is not suitable for vegans.
Pure (Medium and Dark) contains coffee and green coffee bean extract only, with no animal-derived ingredients.
The remaining functional blends, Antiox, Energy, Focus and Unwind, contain coffee, a mushroom extract and an added vitamin. Full ingredient details for each blend are set out on the product page.
LivOn is not currently certified organic. The range is built around specialty coffee quality and the natural ingredients chosen for each blend.
LivOn is ground primarily for cafetière brewing. Use 15g of coffee per 200ml of water and brew for 4 minutes. The grind also works well with a moka pot, AeroPress, pour-over and similar filter methods. Detailed brewing notes for each blend are set out on the product page.
No. LivOn is ground for cafetière brewing, which is significantly coarser than espresso machines require. It is not suitable for espresso preparation. For larger orders, we are able to customise the grind to deliver products suitable for espresso.
Glow Cold Brew is the blend developed specifically for cold brew, with collagen and biotin built in. The other LivOn blends are not ground specifically for cold brew, but they can still be used to make it.
LivOn is currently available as ground coffee only. The ground format allows for consistent integration of the natural ingredients across each pack.
LivOn coffees have an 18-month shelf life from the date of manufacture, with the best-before date printed on the base of each pack. Once opened, reseal the pack tightly and use within a month for best freshness.
Store LivOn in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight, heat and moisture. Once opened, reseal the pack tightly between uses.
